The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls

Emilie Autumn is an extraordinary person with a very unique story to tell.  She does this through her music, her appearance, her manner, but she also has an autobiography, although it is slightly different from most you will read.  Her published book is called 'The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls', but is commonly referred to as the 'Asylum...' book, or AWVG.  It is massive and is quite expensive at £52 pounds, or $75 dollars, not including postage and packaging.  It weighs almost 5 pounds and there is not a page that is solid writing.  I may be speaking as if I have personal experience of this extraordinary book, but I have in fact never seen more than the front page in person.  I'm still saving up for the third edition.  So if this book is so awesome, why haven't you heard about it, well because it's slightly graphic, only for the brave of heart so I've heard.  It also has an age rating of 18, but it's the Internet, all you have to do is click a box.  Want to see a picture, click here, or look below for a smaller one.



You can even go to a book reading where EA herself reads from the book aloud to a listening audience.  Click here for a video.  Her book is the most in depth look at Bipolar disorder, which she suffers from, and it is also I very personal look into how we treat people with mental health problems.  It is writen as an account of her time in a psychiatric ward and her life afterwords.  It also explors the alternative reality in which a lot of people who are locked up develop and live in.  It's a very hard book to read because it is so personal but I cant wait to read it becuase EA says it answers all the questions we Muffins have or ever will ever have about her past, present, and future.
